Our History in Videos February, 2019 – The 1st Crowdfunding Campaign. Using footage from the Pilot Project at Don Adolfo’s, Don Carlos and Higinio ask for support to begin projects on their own land, in their Mayan Community of Plan Grande Tatín. June, 2019 – Thanks, and an Invitation. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Round 1 of Food Forests for Tatín Village was planted, 300 fruit trees on 4.5 acres. Don Carlos thanks the donors, and invites them to come homestay with a local family and enjoy a caldo de kak’ik (spicy chicken soup). July, 2019 – The 2nd Crowdfunding Campaign.Using footage from the successful Round 1, the six workers ask for the support to continue so they can become the next owners for Round 2 of Food Forests for Tatín Village. November, 2019 – Round 2 completed!After a second successful crowdfunding campaign, we planted six more food forests in Tatin Village, 600 more fruit trees on 9 acres. This video shows that second round, along with a message of thanks to our sponsors. February, 2020 – The 3rd Crowdfunding Campaign. Using footage from the completed Round 2, members of the community explain the benefits of these projects, and why you should continue donating to plant 12 more sites for Round 3 in June! June 2020 – Our partner’s campaign for Three New VillagesAfter 21 project sites in Tatin Village, with our methods well-established and interest growing in other communities, our partners launch a parallel campaign to fund projects expanded into villages La Pintada, El Cedro and La Guiara Coccoli. With 18 sites already planted (July 2020).
